NovelSat Awarded BIRD Foundation Grant for Cooperation With US-based igolgi

The grant will support joint activity between the companies to streamline the distribution of video content via satellite to content providers, distributors and to 5G networks

Ra’anana, Israel/Barrington, IL, USA, July 9, 2019 – NovelSat, a technology company that develops and manufactures satellite-based video and content transmission solutions, announced that it has received a grant from the BIRD Foundation for its cooperation with igolgi, which specializes in developing compression solutions for video delivery. The grant will support a joint project of the two companies in the field of satellite video distribution and will greatly improve the transfer of video and audio content between content providers and distributors as well as to 5G networks.

As part of the joint research and development process, NovelSat and igolgi are working together to develop an end-to-end integrated video encoding and modulation solution that will enable wide satellite transmission of video and audio channels and will improve the efficiency of satellite broadcasting.
